"Access Denied" was formed by guitar players Jeroen and John along with drummer Rob and singer Jan Fransen in the town of Berkel en Rodenrijs in the spring of 2001. Playing covers of 80's and 90's metal hits they became a fixture in the growing metal scene in Rotterdam.
By the autumn of 2001 having played covers for a while, the band decided it was time to work on original material. Soon some original songs followed.
In 2002 Jan Fransen left the band. Singer less and lacking a solid bottom end, the band looked to fill its holes. After much searching they found bass player Pepijn and singer J.B. Marx. In the spring of 2002 with the line up complete they set to work on new material.
The music of "Access Denied" is a combination of old-school heavy metal, modern metal and poetic lyrics. The alternating melodic guitars make the band a great choice for both the 80's or 90's metal fan.
During March and April of 2003, "Access Denied" recorded their first demo C.D. "Safety" at the "Excess Studios". "Safety" has garnered great public response.
Shortly after the release of "Safety", the band found themselves once again needing a bass player with the departure of Pepijn. Thankfully in January 2004 a very solid temporarily replacement in Marcus was recruited. Marcus went out in 2005 and Mike filled the hole that Marcus left behind. In September 2005 “Access Denied” went back to the “Excess Studios” to record their full length demo C.D. “Moving towards Experience”. In December of that year Attie Bauw mastered the whole album in the “Bauwhaus Studio”. “Moving towards Experience” contains 8 new songs and will be available in spring 2006.
